Classic American Apple Pie

2 9-inch Pie crust dough

6 cups Apples, peeled and sliced

0.75 cup Sugar

1 tsp Cinnamon

0.25 tsp Nutmeg

1 tbsp Lemon juice

2 tbsp All-purpose flour

2 tbsp Butter
-
1 egg Egg wash

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Mix sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and flour.
- Roll out bottom pie crust and place in a 9-inch pie pan.
- Fill with apple mixture and dot with butter pieces.
- Roll out top crust and place over apples. Seal edges and cut vents.
- Brush top with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar.
- Bake for 15 minutes, then reduce heat to 350°F and bake 35 minutes more.
- Cool for at least 2 hours before slicing. Serve with ice cream!
