Ingredients

12 servings
  • 4 lbs Pork shoulder
  • 2 cups BBQ sauce
  • 0.25 cup Apple cider vinegar
  • 0.25 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Onion powder
  • 1 tbsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp Paprika
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper

Instructions

  1. Mix onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
  2. Rub spice mixture all over pork shoulder.
  3. Place pork in slow cooker.
  4. Mix BBQ sauce, vinegar, and brown sugar. Pour over pork.
  5. Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4-5 hours until pork shreds easily.
  6. Remove pork and shred with two forks. Discard excess fat.
  7. Return shredded pork to slow cooker and toss with sauce. Serve on buns.

Tips & Notes

For extra flavor, sear the pork shoulder on all sides before adding to the slow cooker.
